Is there a spacer/adapter plate for P.T.O. on a 97 F350 trans?
that will depend on the device you are connecting. if you have the correct part then it may not need an adapter . but if it is not specifically designed for that trans then you will need something.
the key is, that the gears have to match and there must be some backlash between the gears when installed. sometimes you have to use thin shims or a combination of shims to acquire the correct backlash
