How to find the right macro lens for my Cannon Digital Rebel XSI?
This is my first time buying one, and I take a lot of pictures in low light settings. I would like something that won’t reduce clarity, and also work excellent in regular lighting, and something that gets pretty close. (like, 100mm atleast?)
Don’t be fooled by the focal length (mm) when you’re trying to get close in macro photography.
All lenses have a minimum focus distance, and longer lenses tend to have a longer minimum focus distance… to the result that the object fills approximately the same space in film/sensor.
Also, a longer lens will exaggerate any blur from shooting handheld or on a weak tripod. In macro photography, blur is already a problem – don’t magnify it!
Get a 50mm macro lens, and get in close. Trust me.
