Sony Sal-75300 or Tamron 70-300mm lens?
I was looking to buy my first lens that could capture a bit further. I thought I was confident in the sony lens, but then I found the tamron. It’s a lot cheaper and has an AF switch on the lens. I don’t want someone to just look at the specs and tell me which one is better. Does anyone have experience with these? I have read good reviews on both. The Tamron just looks too good to be true.

Neither – you should get a Minolta 70-210 f4 or 75-300 f4.5 (not “D” or “II” versions). You can find them used for $125-$200.
